Our work on the Marston cycle path footbridge refurbishment has been awarded at the 2024 Oxford Preservation Trust Awards.
As part of Oxford County Council’s repairs to the cycle path, the Lemond and Fignon footbridges, which cross the Cherwell near University Parks, have been restored. All the timber elements of the Lemond bridge were replaced and the parapet upgraded. The deck of the Grade-II listed Fignon deck was replaced with a high performance glass fibre reinforced polymer, ensuring its long term service while avoided damage to the historically sensitive portal beams.
