Our works involved the removal of the remaining bridge piers from the canal navigation at Spon Lane Locks, at the location of a previous bailey bridge, at the rear of the Enfinium Site in West Bromwich.
Site works included the installation of fencing and signage, the installation of temporary localised caissons (in lieu of dewatering of the canal), breaking-out reinforced concrete pile cap beams and the removal of debris, the cutting of steel piles, the breaking-out and removal of debris to a level below the original canal bed level, and the removal of all temporary infrastructure, and site reinstatement works.
The works were carried out over January and February 2024.
